As long as I can remember, I've been interested in people—helping them, understanding them, even entertaining them. It was this latter interest that led me to obtain my BFA from Stephens College and become involved in performing arts. Over the years, I've collaborated on scripts; performed on stage, screen, and TV; and participated in several writing and acting groups. I've done voluntary work at the Oscars, the Ovation Awards, and even performed in staged readings with numerous celebrities.
I cherish my theatrical side, but it doesn't always make ends meet.
So I spent more than a decade as an independent computer consultant. In this role, my urge to help people surfaced in the form of providing mentoring for my many clients and designing databases to empower them. I also served on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Macintosh Users Group and worked part-time as a computer magazine editor.
As a starry-eyed "Idealist" (as characterized by Keirseyan Temperament theory), my drive to support people has only flowered over the years, and culminated in my studying under Dr. Linda Berens at TRI in order to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® instrument. I was so intrigued by this field that I went on to learn about Jung's Cognitive Processes, Berens Interaction Styles, Temperament, and even Jungian Archetypes. On an internet type list, I became its resident expert, and earned a reputation as the "Type Fairy."
Lately I have been an active volunteer: I am one of the founders of the Los Angeles Association for Psychological Type; I became a member of an Advisory Board for a Los Angeles inner-city high school; and I've been presenting seminars and workshops at the Share Conference for the last 4 years on the topic of personality type.
Facilitating others' learning about who they are is extremely rewarding for me—I enjoy guiding people through the Self-Discovery Process® and leveraging their insights to facilitate transformation. I am MBTI® qualified and certified, and employ a "coach approach" in my work around type. I am also a certified Job and Career Development Coach (JCDC), and I won my credentials as a CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) through CTI so that I may marry all my passions together. I believe I'm in an ideal position to provide guidance to people seeking self-understanding as precursor to self-actualization.
I hope I have the privilege of guiding you through your Self-Discovery Process too.
