Thank you, Shawna, for your kind words. The feeling is mutual. Your sensitive audio interview was instrumental in shaping my views, especially the conversation you had with the Native American gentleman.

I don't know if you've heard yet, but they arrested James Ray yesterday and are charging him. So I think the justice process is working, and he will probably be judged by a jury of his peers. In other words, that's being handled, so we can release the idea that we need to do that job.

Hi Vicky Jo. I just read your article and felt it to be right on the money. I really feel that the best way to respect those who suffered in this tragedy is to ask the right questions of ourselves instead of placing judgement and blame on others. As a consumer in the self help industry, I definitely plan on taking a second look at how easily I can fall into "group thinking" no matter how strong I think I am. As a provider in the self help industry I am forever humbled and reminded that with great power comes great responsibility. Thank you for you insightful article.
Sincerely,
Shawna Bowen M.A., LISAC

You wrote, "question our own integrity, and notice what’s in service of others and what’s in service of our own vanity."

Sounds like something any of us in a helping profession should do on a regular basis.
